Drinks:
Drinks here are free refills. So if you’re thirsty from walking around, I’d say go ahead and splurge with a drink. You’ll just have to go back to the counter to ask for refills (on non-alcoholic drinks of course).

Mightypen’s Greek Chicken sandwich:

The ingredients are fresh and the portions are generous. Mightypen managed to only put away half her sandwich. An interesting note in regards to the Cafe’s choice of ketchup. It’s organic so they go well with the fries. You can supplement a side salad instead of fries if you desire to do so.
Iamme’s Roman Burger:

As you may know, I like burgers. And the Cafe at the Getty Villa, they sure do know how to make a good burger. The Roman burger is a spinach mushroom cheese burger. Although it sounds simple, the use of fresh spinach, a generous portion of mushroom, and lots of cheese, nice thick buns, and a juicy meat patty all combine to provide the rare experience of eating a good burger. I think what makes me like this hamburger so much is the burger meat. It’s not meat that came out of a factory where all the slices are identical and tasteless. The meat patty looks like it has been hand pressed. When you bite into the burger, the meat doesn’t simple break apart, you can feel the texture of the meat as you chew.
Curious about the inner workings of the hamburger? Take a look:

I like the fact that they used spinach instead of lettuce. This provides a different texture to the burger. No tomatoes, but use the organic ketchup and I’m sure you won’t miss out on the tomatoes. Needless to say, conversation with Mightypen stopped while I was eating the burger. I just simply had to enjoy the moment.
And then dessert! I’m not quite sure how we managed to eat it, since I was pretty full.

Despite the image, the dessert was pretty dry and definitely not fresh. I wouldn’t recommend ordering dessert here, unless you really want to quell your stomach’s urging.
Overall, the Cafe at the Getty Villa provides a selection of foods will not disappoint. We gone back multiple times and continue to enjoy the experience of eating at the Cafe. Well, just stay away from the pizzas and you’ll be safe.
