Reviews:

Mightypen – ate Pho chin bo gio vien

The springrolls were okay, but the ingredients were not fresh, as I noticed that the chopped iceberg lettuce was slightly brown. Restaurants of higher quality use the Vietnamese large green leaf lettuce, and never chop it. The springrolls came with peanut dipping sauce. The pho came with a lot of noodles and a decent amount of beef slices, which was especially nice (see Iamme’s review). The meatballs were cut into quarters, so there was some definite skimping there. The meatballs were also very tasteless. The broth was decent, much more than I expected from a place that stays open so late (till 12AM on weekdays and 3AM on weekends!). Check out the pho at this place if you are working to get a sense of what good and bad pho are. The pho here is way mediocre. However, there is a coffee/tea/boba bar built into the place, and so the variety of fancy blended beverages is large. The che was complementary, a soup of tapioca and mung and green beans, though they skimped on ingredients here as well, and I couldn’t see any actual beans in the watery consistency.

Iamme – ate Com thit bo

The rice dish came out with 2 slices of tomatoes and two slices of cucumber. At first glance, it didn’t look appetizing at all. Just from looking at it, I thought the meat would be dry, and after eating the beef; yes, my first impression was correct, the beef was dry and virtually tasteless. I ended up grabbing some of Mightypen’s beef from her pho noodles to eat with my rice. It was a little bit depressing. The descriptiion sounded nice, but it was grilled and it wasn't anything special, other than slices of beef on rice. Mightypen's pho looked better. But I enjoyed the Thai iced tea. It's your typical Thai tea with whipped cream.
