This is an ice cream bar that we always get on the go. It is creamy, sweet, and light. What’s more, it boasts an incredibly efficient design! As you can see from the picture on the pouch, “White Rose” Choco Monaka is an inside out frozen treat.

When you open the pouch, you will see that it is sectioned of similarly to a Hershey’s chocolate bar. The outside is made up of two cake cones, which meet at the sides. If you let Choco Monaka sit out for several minutes, the ice cream will start to melt, and you may have trouble keeping the cones stuck together. This shouldn’t be a problem, though. Most people inhale these ice cream bars right away.
This is a great treat to enjoy while driving, especially on a hot summer day. There is literally no clean up! And while the quality of the ice cream is not exactly gourmet, it does not taste overly ladened with sugar (22g, though, so they hide it well!). The crunchy chocolate casing helps to keep the cone dry. It also adds an extra textural element that feels very nice.
“White Rose” Choco Monaka bars are produced by Dainyu and imported by JFC International right here in L.A. Currently, you can find them at select Famima!! convenience stores for $2.19 each (about $2.50 with tax).
