It has been awhile since we’ve had a Freshly Dug Food Find.  When I saw these fried duck wings last weekend, I knew they had to be blogged!  A slow sunset, a frosty beer, and a few of these babies – what more could you possibly want?

Bolsa B.B.Q. (on the corner of Bolsa and Magnolia in Westminster) fries up these tasty wings only on weekends, when they have enough left over from sales during the week.  From what I understand, this is a relatively new thing that they are doing in their shop.

The wings are seasoned with five spice powder and peppercorns just like the aromatic, crispy Peking variation.  Then, they are coated in flour and deep-fried.  On top of being tasty and fun, Bolsa B.B.Q. sells these wings for incredibly cheap – currently only $1.22 per pound!  You can easily get 2 dozen for under $3 bucks.

These wings would be popular, inexpensive additions to any picnic, barbeque, or summer party.  They are going to be hugely popular soon, so get to the shop early!  Though they are tasty, these fried duck wings don’t have a long shelf life.  Eat them immediately.
