I don’t really know much about beer. To be honest, I don’t drink it very often. Recently, however, I discovered Blue Moon Beer. Blue Moon has been on the market for over 12 years now, but – hey – I’ve only been drinking legally for 3!
Crafted by brewers at Coors, Blue Moon is a Belgian-style, unfiltered wheat beer. It boasts a lovely amber-orange hue, and has the taste of oranges and spicy coriander and nutmeg. Blue moon smells pretty nice, too. The delicious scent of orange peel will hit you right away!

Another thing I notice with Blue Moon is the decidedly “bready” aroma and after-taste I get with it. Perhaps this is due to it being a wheat bear? In any case, the smell of wheat bread is very nice and satisfying. It fills up the beer, and anchors the large presence of oranges.
For those who want to add more refreshment, try twisting an orange wedge into your Blue Moon. Really twist the slice so that you are able to extract both the juice and essential oils. I recommend using a small to mid-sized Valencia orange from Mexico; They have a limited amount of pith, and are very sweet, juicy, and pliable.

Blue Moon brews its beer in five varieties: Belgian White, Rising Moon Spring Ale, Honey Moon Summer Ale, Harvest Moon Pumpkin Ale, and Full Moon Winter Ale. I have never tried the autumn and winter ales, but definitely believe that Blue Moon crafts some mean spring and summertime beers! Aside from being tasty right from the glass, Belgian White, Rising Moon, and Honey Moon are all mild enough to be excellent in mixed drinks or for making batters and doughs. Something tells me an old-fashioned fish fry is in order!
