Reviews:
Every once in awhile, Iamme and I like to take a break from our normal routine here at the Spoonful to share a glimpse of our personal lives, which miraculously seem centered around the dinner table. I was looking back through photos, and came across images of our friends Greg and Vicky’s wedding some months back. The reception was held at the popular 888 Seafood Restaurant in Rosemead and a beautiful night was had by all.

We were served a typical Chinese wedding banquet menu, which featured these dishes among others:

As I stated earlier, this was an incredibly fun and heartfelt celebration. 888 facilitated the large guest list, which (from what the Groom later told me) pushed the limits of its capacity at about 400. Don’t expect great service though, as that would be against every rule of Chinese banquet dining. That said, the food here is pretty decent. Just stay away from the taro dessert and opt for wedding cake instead!

Here are a few more photos for your viewing enjoyment:

Notice the badminton birdies on the cake? The groom and bride met while playing badminton. How cute!

We like 888 because it is large and has ample parking. The restaurant is also beautifully lit and quite spacious on the inside. One of the prominent features of the dining area are the numerous crystal chandeliers, which resemble upside down umbrellas. I personally think they are very pretty.

Rating:

6+ out of 10 spoonfuls

Value:

$$ (We’re guessing about $50 dollars per head)
